Beatus Caves

The present underground kingdom is located only 6 kilometers from the famous mountain-lake resort of Interlaken . Caves of Beatus (St. Beatus Caves) in Switzerland do not leave anyone indifferent to the mysteries of the underground nature.

A bit of history

They say that sometime in the 11th century AD, a real dragon lived here. Modern people, of course, believe in this is unlikely to succeed, so there is another version, more "scientific." It says that once the cave was occupied by a monster of impressive size, which frightened the locals with the thought of their real existence. The brave Beatus Lungernsky, later nicknamed the holy Beatus, for his selfless and kind deeds, fought with an unknown living giant, and after the victory decided to stay in a cave.

In connection with the legend, many things here have the form of a dragon. For example, you can ride on an underground lake on a ship in the form of a dragon, and at the entrance you will be met by a figurine of a fire-breathing creature.
