Master-class "Bedspread from jeans"

  1. For a large veil, we need about 11 pairs of old jeans cut into identical sized squares. Prepare the necessary number of blanks, as well as tools - a sewing machine, cutter, nippers and a brush for animal wool.
  2. For example, we use squares of contrasting colors. Prepare two squares of denim and two - of lining fabric. Fold them in pairs inverted sides inward.
  3. To make a machine line, fold all four squares together.
  4. This is how the line looks - it is laid at a distance of 1.7-1.8 cm from the edge.
  5. And this is the wrong side. So you see that the seam remains on top. This will be the "highlight" of our product, because usually the seams, on the contrary, try to hide.
  6. Sew all the denim blanks we have in pairs.
  7. We take each stitched pair and carefully make cuts every half a centimeter. Try not to cut through the seam!
  8. Then the resulting fringe should be slightly fluffed by hand.
  9. We remove the falling threads and continue to swell the product. Our goal is to completely get rid of the longitudinal threads and make a thick fringe from the seams. It is convenient to use an animal brush for this.
  10. In the end, the seam should look something like this. Then we connect all the pairs into the transverse bands, and then we collect them in a single whole. A blanket of jeans made by own hands looks very unusual!

Also from jeans you can sew beautiful decorative pillows.
