Bobot-Cook


Bobot-Cook is the mountain peak of the Durmitor massif, it is located in the territory of Durmitor National Park . Bobot-Cook is one of the highest peaks in Montenegro , and also one of the most popular for climbing.

Conquering the top

The climb to the mountain can be done independently. There are two main routes - short and long. The first route starts from the Sedlo Pass, which is the most popular since climbing in this case can be accomplished in just 3-3.5 hours. You can reach the pass by car from Zabljak .

The beginning of a long route is the Black Lake. It takes from 5.5 to 7 hours - depending on the physical preparation of the trackers and the time of the year. This route also passes through the Saddle Pass. To be guided in a way tags which have left by climbers will help.

It is best to climb during the period from July to September, although you can make a march to Bobot-Cook in April. But in this case, the ascent will be more difficult: even in June many places still have snow. And since October here it is already getting too cold, and the weather can be unpredictable.

How to get to the beginning of the route?

You can drive to the town of Zabljak from Podgorica by car on E762 and Narodnih Heroja in about 2 hours. From Zabljak to the beginning of the route the journey will take about half an hour, you should go first on Narodnih Heroja, then on P14.
