Boredom

Let's face it - today we have much more opportunities, but, invariably, we live in a much more boring world than the one in which our ancestors lived.

Nonsense! Live in the 21st century, in the century when scientific and technological progress is developed by leaps and bounds, when much more is realized of what people thought or could dream about! We are faced with the problem that ... we are bored.

Why is boredom born? Where did it come from? What is it? A splinter somewhere that does not allow life to live calmly and evenly? Or is boredom a mechanism of self-defense from distant ancestors?

Why do we miss?

Boredom - a state of personality, caused by the monotony of processes that repeat around, which invariably leads to a loss of interest around what is happening.

Inside of us from time immemorial lives the instinct of the getter, the discoverer. In us the gene of irrepressibility in cognition is incorporated. But - that's bad luck! - we do not need to discover anything and learn. No, of course, especially crazy dreamers know that somewhere there are scientist-inventors who come up with every day the best and best things for us, they are looking for ways to make life easier for us, for all mankind. But, in the majority for today we with you create ballast. No wonder we are bored with boredom!

We do not need to do anything. To get food - just go to the supermarket. That it was warm and light - to pay for utilities in the house. To have fun - go to the movies, turn on the film at home, go online or play a computer game. In order to implement all of the above, you only need to make money.

To do this, we also do not need to invent anything - just go and sit out your own, the right time, in the workplace. But here boredom awaits us! Having mastered several basic functions, having learned to understand several programs, it is enough to perform methodically, day by day, a certain set of repetitive actions. And how to get rid of boredom - we do not know.

No salvation of mankind or even of his life, as in popular films. No protection of their interests. No self-defense. All that you can want, you do not have to invent anymore - the Internet will offer you this with great pleasure.

Psychologists say that we are beginning to suffer from boredom as a child, at the very moment when we stop playing. This happens when a child becomes a passive player when he becomes just a consumer of organized for him entertainment. TV, computer, etc. Children with such "chewed" and organized other leisure do not develop fantasy, independence and interests.

The same happens with adults. By invariably repeating our lives, we often do not even realize how much we are bored with the boredom. And then we are looking for entertainment.

How to overcome boredom?

Fighting with boredom can be destructive and constructive.

Destructive activities that a person thinks of himself as a cure for boredom is:

  1. Go out with friends to the bar and have a drink
  2. Listen to music
  3. Watch TV
  4. Aimlessly climb on the Internet
  5. Sitting in social networks

The constructive way is more complicated. It requires us to increase activity. Dense graphics and courage. Organizationality and concentration. The setting of goals, the search for meaning in all their actions. And this, of course, is the best cure for boredom.

Some psychologists believe that boredom occurs when a person avoids doing what he really wants. Perhaps it seems to him impossible, hopeless, terrible, hopeless. At this point, the energy that has arisen to realize this desire is blocked, a "clamp" arises. But she is not going anywhere! And it turns out that the force of action is equal to the force of opposition. The desire to achieve the goal is the unwillingness to change something.

Our unwillingness to change for ourselves and our lives is a protective mechanism of the psyche of any healthy person. Because any change is a risk. And the consequences are unknown. Thus, our psyche protects us. But in exchange for us comes boredom.
