Botanical Garden (Pretoria)


The National Botanical Garden in Pretoria is one of the finest picturesque South African national botanical sites, which is worth a visit to absolutely every traveler.

This beauty was created in 1946, and today it occupies about 76 hectares of land and here is the headquarters of the National Biodiversity Institute of the Republic of South Africa .

What to see?

The Botanical Garden is divided into the southern and northern zone, and through the Pretoria, itineraries are laid, allowing you to get acquainted with the world of flora and fauna of this state.

Almost the entire area of ​​the site is dotted with South African plants and those that were brought from other continents: succulents, cicadas, and water and marsh flora. Everyone can see with their own eyes what is called savannah, subtropics, forest. All this is possible thanks to the created ecosystems.

Also, each visitor has the opportunity to contemplate medicinal plants (several species of aloe, cicadasses and succulents). And in 1946 the alley of the most beautiful trees of wisteria "Blyusantos" was planted, which today is considered the visiting card of this place.

Also on its territory live more than 200 species of birds, reptiles and mammals. And in the far part of the garden in search of food wanders the gray antelope Ducker. Her, as well as sharp hares, is always fed by workers of Pretoria.
