The history of the Christmas market in Vienna begins in 1296, when by the order of the Emperor Albrecht I the "December market" was opened, that is, the first Christmas fair in Austria. In our time, the "December market" lasts for four weeks - from the middle of November until Christmas. The fair in Vienna is a huge Christmas tree in the Town Hall Square, children's Christmas Expresses and fairytale attractions in parks, master classes on making toys and baking Christmas treats, tents with roasted chestnuts and punch for adults.
