Chronic superficial gastritis is an inflammation of the surface layer of the gastric mucosa. Deeper layers are not affected, but infiltration sites change the amount and composition of epithelial cells, which leads to disruption of metabolic processes, motor, secretory and endocrine functions of the stomach.
Causes and symptoms of chronic superficial gastritis
Chronic focal and non-atrophic surface gastritis very often arises due to the fact that the organism gets the bacterium Helicobacter pylori. This disease also occurs when:
- long-term use of alcoholic beverages;
- immune failure, during which the development of antibodies to the peritonal cells of the mucosa begins;
- reception of nonsteroidal drugs.
The main symptoms of chronic superficial gastritis are heartburn , belching and heaviness in the abdomen. In some cases, the patient experiences nausea and vomiting with the contents of the stomach. With chronic superficial distal gastritis, which occurs in the outermost part of the stomach, an unpleasant aftertaste appears in the mouth accompanied by putrefactive odor and pain syndrome. most often the pain appears after a short time after eating.
Treatment of chronic superficial gastritis
Compliance with diet is an important stage in the treatment of chronic superficial gastritis. It helps to alleviate the patient's condition and shorten the period of drug therapy. If the disease was caused by the Helicobacterpylori bacterium, the patient should undergo a course of antibacterial therapy with drugs such as Tetracycline or Metronidazole. To reduce the pH-acidity use:
- Almagel ;
- Phosphalugel;
- Alugastrina.
Some patients are shown taking enzymes (Mezim or Panzinorma forte) and means restoring the mucous (Actovegin or Solcoseryl).
