Cosmetic brand accused Katy Perry of plagiarism

American beauty company Hard Candy demands to change the lipstick logo of Cosmetic CoverGirl line, designed by Katy Perry, and insists on seizure of products from stores.

In May in New York, proud Katy Perry presented the result of her collaboration with CoverGirl, presenting a line of lipsticks Katy Kat Matte, consisting of thirteen shades. The singer really enjoyed doing the production, not just advertising it, so Cathy and the brand agreed on a long-term cooperation, because the fashion colors, among which there are black, fell in love with the buyers.

Perry did not long rejoice at such a successful start. Representatives of Hard Candy sued the transnational giant Procter & Gamble (the CoverGirl brand is its affiliated company) stating that the Katy Kat Matte lipstick case and logo are virtually identical to the design of its product, which it has been producing for over a decade.

As stated in the statement, this design of the package misleads consumers. The plaintiff does not demand financial compensation, but insists on changing the Katy Kat Matte logo and recalling the lipsticks that have already been released.
