Dry felting

Having mastered the simple technique of felting out of wool, you can learn to perform by your own hands very beautiful crafts - toys, paintings, flowers and much more. As you know, there are two different ways of felting - dry and wet . The latter is the creation of articles made of untidy wool using water and soap. For the technique of dry felting, in turn, only wool, special needles, and also perseverance and patience are needed.

And now let's study together the method of dry felting by the example of creating a small felted toy.

In addition to the wool of different colors, we will need one or more needles with notches, white sewing threads, dark beads, narrow lace, pendant and scissors to make a miniature toy-key ring on the phone.

Performance:

1. Tear off a piece of blue wool of arbitrary size and roll it into the ball with your hands. Then, using the felting needle, start piercing (not through) the surface of the ball, thereby weaving its fibers into a single dense "fabric". Continue until the ball is well held shape. The more needle movements you make, the better the ball falls and the smaller it becomes. Periodically, you should twist the ball in your hand, leveling its shape.
2. Then start to tie the ball with beige or flesh-colored hair.

5. Eye-beads must be gently sewed into place, using a regular needle and sewing thread. But you can glue them on hot glue or use running eyes.
6. For the image of the doll's cheeks, use a little pink wool. Well, if you have a thinner needle for felting: it is useful for compacting fine and fine details.
7. Since the future crafts are meant to be used as a suspension for the phone, its back part can be decorated with a decorative flower. To do this, tear a small white fiber and twist it in a spiral into a circle.
8. Privalalayte white wool to the back of the head of a nesting doll.
9. And then, using a thin needle with small notches, give the white circle the shape of a four-leaf petal (clover or chamomile). If you wish, you can use any other image, or at all refuse to decorate the rear side of the suspension.
10. In order to make the middle of the flower, twist a small flat circle of yellow wool.
11. And gently prick it with a needle in the center of the white flower.
12. To make the doll look more like a Russian doll, we "dress" it in a lace handkerchief.
13. Take a narrow ribbon of lace and sew it to the blue part of the ball, using thin white thread or a transparent line.
14. The lower ends of the lace are not sewn, cross them with each other.
15. In the upper central part of the key ring, sew an eyelet (purchased or homemade) so that the matryoshka doll can be used as a phone pendant.
