Enroksil is a known and effective antibiotic, which is often used in the treatment of bacterial infections in dogs and cats.
The spectrum of the drug is quite wide, Enroxil for cats is usually prescribed for such diseases as:
- various infectious diseases of the genitourinary system;
- various infectious diseases of the digestive tract;
- various infectious diseases of the respiratory system;
- colibacillosis;
- streptococcosis;
- salmonellosis;
- MMA syndrome;
- bacterial and enzootic pneumonia;
- atrophic rhinitis;
- septicemia.
The drug Enroksil practically does not cause side effects, it has few contraindications and has well proved itself in veterinary practice.
Please note that Enroxil is not allowed to be used concurrently with the following medicines: Theophylline, Macrolide, Chloramphenicol, Tetracycline and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
Course of treatment
You can appoint Enroxil for cats only by a doctor, do not take this decision yourself. The dose of the drug may vary depending on the type of disease, age and weight of the animal.
The use of Enroxyl is quite convenient, because the tablets have a taste of meat, and the animal will eat it with pleasure. In addition to the tablets, the drug is also available in the form of a solution for injection.
Instructions for cats Enroksila does not differ from the instruction for other animals.
Instructions for the use of veterinary Enroxil in tablets:
- Usually, Enroxil is prescribed to cats 2 times a day - in the morning and in the evening with food.
- Dosage of Enroxil can be administered individually, but the standard dose is calculated based on the weight of the animal: 1 tablet (15 mg) per 3 kg of animal weight.
- Treatment lasts about a week.
- Cats use Enroxil is allowed from 2 months of age.
- It is forbidden to use Enroxil during pregnancy and lactation, animals with diseases of the nervous system.
Enroksil in the form of a 5% solution is not prescribed to cats! It is used only for the treatment of farm animals and dogs.
Officially there is no analogue of Enroxyl, however some pharmacists and veterinarians can advise using Enrofloxacin and Wetfloc instead.
Note that these drugs are very similar in composition, but you can only replace Enroxil, only your doctor can decide. Some studies show that Enroksil in many respects surpasses the declared analogues in the results.
