How to wrap textbooks?

The new school year - new troubles, both for the kids and their parents. Decently spent on school fees, the latter are often upset when it turns out that only bought new covers for books and notebooks are not destiny, most often they simply do not fit in size. Then, before the mothers, the question arises: how and what to wrap textbooks, so that they retain their appearance and do not fall apart by the end of the first quarter.

Today we will remember our childhood, when textbooks wrapped around wallpaper, polyethylene, old newspapers and apply our knowledge on more modern materials.

How to wrap textbooks with paper yourself?

Stationery stores offer customers a huge variety of different types and types of paper. But you can go the other way - for the cover of the book will suit: brown paper from food packages, old maps, wallpaper, newspapers. Thus, the question of what can be wrapped textbooks, disappears by itself. Now let's look at the diagram and the tools. So, for work we need: scissors, ruler, self-adhesive tape, a tool for bending paper. Everything is ready, proceed:

  1. First of all, we cut out a rectangle from the paper in the size of the book (in the unfolded position) with allowances from above and below about 3-4 cm and about 7 cm on the sides.
  2. Now put the book on paper and note the places of future folds, leaving a stock of about 0.5 cm.
  3. Further along the marked lines, bend the paper inside, beginning with the upper and lower folds.
  4. Fix the edges of the cover, using a transparent tape.
  5. Now we wrap the paper with a book and, on the same principle, we make the first lateral bend.
  6. We'll put the book in the cover, in its upper bend. We wrap it with paper and note the place of the last bend.
  7. The last bend will be done according to the principle of the previous one.
  8. Gently put the book in our new cover and do decoration.

How to wrap a textbook with film?

An excellent alternative to paper can make up a film. And this material from the point of view of practicality is more acceptable for school books. Its main advantage is water resistance. Wrap textbooks can be both food and hot-melt film, in recent years, the so-called baggage film has gained popularity. A strong and durable cover can be made from ordinary polyethylene with iron. The scheme of wrapping a textbook with a film is about the same as when working with paper. It is very neat to do with the hot-melt film - it will not tolerate inaccuracies and inaccuracies.
