Facade paint on plaster

Today, for finishing the facades of houses often use plaster mixes. They have excellent heat and noise insulation properties, easily lie on the surface and protect it from mechanical damage. But the plaster has one significant drawback - it has a nondescript gray color, which does not decorate the appearance of buildings. To fix this problem, you can use colored finishing mixes that have a unifying name - paints for facade works. With their help, you can animate the faceless gray plaster and give it a rich, pleasant shade.

a brief description of

In addition to the beautiful appearance, the exterior façade paint has a number of useful advantages, namely:

Along with the above advantages, there are several significant flaws associated with the application of paint. Painting is done only on a dry basis with an average daily air temperature of at least 10 ° C. In this case, the paint is forbidden to be applied in hot weather, after rain or in strong winds.

How to choose a facade paint?

First you need to decide on the amount of paint. Since it is applied in two layers, the number of packages will need to be doubled. You can use calculators for calculating. If you enter in them the name of the facade paint and the area of the walls, they will calculate the right amount.

In addition, you will need to choose the base material of the facade paint on the plaster. It can be of three types:

  1. Acrylic . The basis is acrylic resin. The paint has a low ability to moisture absorption, is not at risk of contamination. Suitable for application to organic and mineral substrates with the exception of silicate. Can have a persistent rich color. Repeat coloring should be done after about 10 years.
  2. Acrylic-silicone . This paint has a small absorption capacity and a little more vapor permeability than acrylic. It does not emit unpleasant odors when applied, so it can be used already in functioning buildings. Silicone paint can reliably protect the walls of the house for 25 years.
  3. Silicate . This paint is not susceptible to fungus and mold, withstands the effects of atmospheric precipitation. Thanks to the chemical reaction, it binds firmly to cement and it is almost impossible to eliminate it.
