Fur-tree made of cloth by own hands

There is a great alternative to a lively New Year tree. You can decorate the house with an artificial tree or several small Christmas trees made in various handmade techniques. As an example, you can sew a Christmas tree from the fabric with your own hands. On this topic, we have prepared for you a small master class.

We make a New Year tree out of cloth

  1. Prepare the fabric for the Christmas tree. Well, if it will be colorful, with themed New Year's patterns, or just different bright shades. Not necessarily to make a fur-tree green - creativity allows us to leave standards!
  2. Now make a paper pattern for the future tree of cloth. Cut out a rectangle with a size of 15x22 cm from the paper. These figures are given for an example - focusing on them, it will be easier to understand the proportions of parts and the scale of the finished product. The size of the pattern can be different, more or less. So, fold the resulting rectangle in half and check the diagonal line along the long side. Cut the paper over it and unfold the sheet. You should get an equilateral triangle - a ready-made pattern.
  3. Fold two identical sized pieces of fabric face-to-face, and on top - your pattern. For convenience, you can use pins to prevent parts from shifting relative to each other. Cut out two details of the Christmas tree on the template, adding an allowance to the bottom of 1 cm.
  4. Sew both parts together from the wrong side manually or on the sewing machine. Then unscrew the product. To reverse the tip, use the back of the pencil.
  5. Fill the textile tree with the filler - sintepon. To make it more stable, put weighting agents on the bottom (for example, a few pebbles). Then from the cardboard, cut out a circle and place it in the bottom of the tree. The edges (allowances) are folded inwards so they do not stick out.
  6. Now sew the bottom of felt. It should be slightly larger in size than the cardboard circle. Neat stitches on textile products made by themselves, look very impressive.
  7. Decorate a Christmas tree made of fabric, sewn by hand, can be large buttons in the tone of the fabric. You can also use sequins, rhinestones, New Year's tinsel or any other decor for your taste.
  8. Now in the queue the main attribute of the New Year's beauty is the five-pointed star! First, make a pattern of paper, writing a star in a square 5x5 cm. Then cut out two identical parts from the felt.
  9. Sew them manually with a suture seam, but not until the end. Use a contrasting thread.
  10. When it remains to sew the last ray of the star, place the top of the cone inward of the star and cover it.
