Golden Eye

The northern coast of the city of Orakabessa in Jamaica is decorated with a mansion (now popular hotel) Golden Eye, or Golden Eye. The founder and designer of the estate was a popular writer Ian Fleming, who in 1946 bought a piece of land and built a small house on it.

A bit of history

Initially, the villa Fleming was a modest house with three bedrooms and a swimming pool in the surrounding area. The novelist built a dwelling solely for personal use, rest and work on works about James Bond. The latter, as is known, had a deafening success and forever changed the life of Fleming himself and his offspring - the "Golden Eye" mansion in Jamaica.

According to the novels about "Agent 007", films soon began to be shot (the first one was shot here, on the James Bond beach ), and their author was instantly popular in the acting and political environment. Fleming was engaged in writing scripts, casting for the performers of the main roles in the building of the mansion. Annually the most famous directors, actors, musicians, producers came here.

The new life of the estate

After the death of Fleming, the estate was replaced not by one owner, until it was bought by music producer Chris Blackwell. The new owner conceived to expand and refine the territory of the Golden Eye. Today, the area of the chic hotel complex, which is located here today, far exceeds the modest monastery of the writer, but at the same time the spirit of the Fleming era still reigns here.

Today, guests of the Golden Eye Hotel can enjoy a comfortable stay at one of the best resorts in Jamaica . Guests are invited to guest houses, able to accommodate no more than 10 people. Each of the villas is equipped with the latest technology, and the rooms around the clock serves friendly staff.
