The basis for compote can serve not only cherry, but cherry. The sweet summer berry does not yield to its kind in aroma and taste qualities, and therefore such a drink can be an excellent preparation in the reminder of the summer. In the recipes below we will share all the subtleties of cooking cherry compote and its conservation.
Red cherry compote for the winter
There are several ways to extract from the berries the maximum of those taste-aromatic combinations that are inherent in them by nature: the sweet cherry can be boiled together with water, but in that case, by carelessness or inexperience, the fruits can be boiled, and therefore it is much easier to use the following techniques.
Ingredients:
- cherries - 160 g;
- granulated sugar - 85 g.
Preparation
Release the berries from the peduncles, rinse and pour into a clean jar. Top the cherry with three liters of boiling water, cover with a mesh plastic lid and leave for 20 minutes. At the end of the time, pour the water into a saucepan and mix with the sugar. In the recipe, the proportions are given for the preparation of a non-sweet compote, and therefore, if necessary, you can add a portion of the sweetener to taste. When the syrup begins to boil, quickly fill it with cherries again and roll them with sterile lids.
Compote of cherry and cherry for the winter
Closing cherry and cherry together is a brilliant idea for those who try to attach the remains of a generous berry harvest in their dishes. The compote from this pair will turn out to be very bright and fragrant - a real summer drink.
Ingredients:
- cherry - 130 g;
- cherry - 130 g;
- granulated sugar - to taste.
Preparation
Pour three liters of water into a saucepan and sprinkle sugar or any other sweetener based on your taste preferences. Thoroughly washed jars put in a pot filled with water and begin to gradually heat until the liquid boils. Then reduce heat, pour berries, fill them with syrup and cover the jars with covers. After 10 minutes, gently roll up the containers.
Compote of sweet cherry with mint for winter
Adding fragrant herbs and spices is far from being a new technique in compote recipes. In this recipe the cherry mixture will be supplemented with sprigs of mint.
Ingredients:
- cherry - 4 items;
- mint - 2 branches;
- granulated sugar - 200 g.
Preparation
In a pan with a coating of enamel, pour in three liters of water and bring them to a boil. In boiling water, pour the berries, lower the fire under the dishes and cook the sweet cherries for 7 minutes, then pour in the sugar and let the crystals completely dissolve. If desired, compote of cherry for the winter can be harvested without sugar at all.
Place the jars on the sterilization at the same time as the start of cooking compote. Another boiling drink pour on hot jars, put a sprig of mint and immediately roll the drink with sterile lids.
Compote from cherries without pits for the winter
Berries without pits readily absorb sugar syrup and other additives from it, and therefore are suitable for further independent use or addition in desserts.
Ingredients:
- sweet cherries - 210 g;
- granulated sugar - 260 g;
- a vanilla pod.
Preparation
Before you close the compote of cherry for the winter, the berries free from bones. Put a 1 liter jar on a water bath, put berries in it and cover them with sugar. For the fragrance we decided to put a cut vanilla pod to the cherry, but it can be replaced with vanillin or other spices, like a cinnamon stick or a pair of clove buds, for example. Pour the contents of the jar with boiling water and leave everything sterilized, covered with lids, about 20-25 minutes. Then the banks should immediately roll up, put upside down and leave to cool, previously wrapped in a warm blanket.
