Handmade: beads from mountain ash

  1. First you need to collect rowan. Collect it best in late August or early September, when the berries of mountain ash are just solid and bright. The number of ashberries, of course, depends on how long the necklace you want to make. But keep in mind that these beads look especially good, if you wrap them around the neck at least five times, or better times eight to ten, so it's better to make the beads longer.
  2. Then you need to sort out the rowan, removing twigs and cuttings, so that the berries of mountain ash begin to resemble round beads.
  3. And the next step is to go on assembling the beads. To do this, take a strong thread, preferably red, so that when the berries dry up, it's not particularly noticeable. It is better to take the thread more truly, so as not to tie additional pieces later, since the nodules will disturb you. The berries are threaded along the cuttings. String them carefully, so as not to damage the thread of the berries.
  4. After a couple of days after you make the beads, the berries can dry out a little and because of this there will be small gaps between them. To get rid of them, just tighten the beads. In the end, of course, the berries will dry up completely, so these beads are short-lived, but in principle, even in the dried state, these beads look very interesting.

Here you have learned how to make such an interesting accessory, like rowan beads, which will become an unusual and stylish decoration of your neck.
