And besides preventive measures such as periodic change of the earth and washing of the greenhouse itself, there are still recommendations, than it is possible to decontaminate the soil in your greenhouse in order to get rid of accumulated harmful microorganisms and insects.

How to decontaminate the soil in the greenhouse in autumn - ways

  1. Hot steam treatment . This method is the simplest. You just need to scald the ground with boiling water and cover with a film. Most bacteria and other organisms will die from this.
  2. Copper vitriol . The solution is prepared as follows: 10 liters of water is diluted 1 tbsp. a spoonful of vitriol. You need to water this soil after harvesting. It is undesirable to get involved in this way, because copper sulfate is a toxic substance.
  3. Formalin . It is also a highly toxic substance, so it is used in extreme cases. First you need to dig the grooves, fill them with formalin, cover the ground and leave for a while. After this, it is necessary to dig a good ground and leave, tightly covering all the windows and cracks in the greenhouse. After a while, the windows and doors open and a good airing of the greenhouse for a couple of weeks and once again thoroughly dig through the earth.
  4. Chlorine lime . How to decontaminate the soil in the greenhouse with its help: in dry form it needs to be poured onto the soil after harvesting, and also treat all internal designs of the greenhouse.
  5. Sulfur checker . Effective, though dangerous method of processing greenhouses. The checker is placed in the center and set on fire, all the windows and doors are closed and left for about an hour. A smoldering piece emits a lot of smoke, killing all life. After such decontamination, it takes 2 weeks to ventilate the greenhouse.
  6. How to decontaminate the soil with potassium permanganate : first you need to prepare a solution in the proportion of 3-5 g per 10 liters of water. We pour the land with this solution, and before the spring planting (for 5 days) we additionally process the soil with boiling water.
