At what age is the yolk allowed?
When asked if a yolk can be given to a child, pediatricians respond that it is possible to enter it from 6 months. However, there is one "but" here. As you know, the first lure for a child can be vegetable puree, juices and dairy-free cereal. And if, considering that each of these products is introduced in turn, the baby will try the yolk not earlier than seven months old.
Yolk rates for children
There are prescribed dosages, according to which, you can find out how much yolk to give the child, depending on his age:
- the first input of the yolk (7 months) - 1/8 of the whole egg yolk;
- 1 year - 1/2 of the whole yolk;
- a year and a half - 3/4 of the whole yolk;
- 2 years - 1 egg yolk.
How correctly the first time to give the baby a yolk, so that the baby ate it - is to grind 1/8 of the whole egg yolk, and add it to the adapted mixture or to breast milk. If a negative reaction does not occur, the amount is gradually increased, depending on the age of the crumbs.
Note that the eggs should be fresh and cooked for at least 7 minutes after boiling water. The older the child becomes, the easier it is to give the yolk: the need for mixing this product with others is not needed.
It is often not recommended to give a yolk to a child, since this product contains a lot of saturated fat, which can negatively affect the gastrointestinal tract of crumbs. In 7 months it is enough to give the yolk 2 times a week. By the year the kids can eat the yolk up to 5 times a week. So, whether to give a child a yolk, and why to do this, many moms and dads are interested. Do not forget that this product contains a lot of useful substances: magnesium, potassium, phosphorus, selenium, vitamin B12 - a pledge of perfect well-being and vitamin, and also vitamin A - a pledge of good vision, etc.
