Bent to the ground branches we cover with a breathable material, usually we are talking about sacks of sugar or white agrofibers, sackcloth or canvas is suitable. To fix the shelter along the perimeter, we load the cargo from the sand. Do not forget about the poisons for rodents, if they decide to hibernate in such a shelter.
- Residents of warm regions are familiar with the method with needles or sawdust. After the fall of the leaves, you need to cover the figs with needles, literally falling asleep from the bag. It turns out that everything that will be located under the shelter will survive, if some branches stick out, they will freeze, and in the spring they will need to be cut off. However, it is possible to shelter the figs with needles in the presence of this very needles, and it is allowed to remove the shelter only after the end of spring frosts.
- Do not try to hide the figs for winter too dense material, since the first thaw will lead to death. The juice will begin to move along the branches in January, this will lead, if not to the death of the plant, then to the absence of a crop exactly. Something like a greenhouse is not suitable for this culture.
