Is there a Santa Claus?

The question is, does Santa Claus really exist, has long worried the minds of our children and not only. After all, if it does not exist, then who puts the gifts under the tree?

A bit of history

Seriously, we can not say for sure when there was Santa Claus , whom we all know. Apparently, originally it was some kind of Slavic pagan creature - the personification of the energy of cold, freezing. There is evidence that Frost, usually called Treskuntsom, was sacrificed (as a gift?) Kutya. Kutia is a memorial dish, so, apparently, the idea of the boundary between the worlds is realized here: human and navy, dead. Indeed, in the fairy tale "Frosty" the girl jumps into the well to achieve the peace of Frost - thus breaking the barrier between the worlds.

Apparently, this New Year's character - Santa Claus - was not until the 30's, when the government decided to resume the celebration of the New Year , but without Christmas paraphernalia and, of course, without religious content.

That's when the New Year's wizard appeared, bringing gifts to happy Soviet children. Later, though not immediately, the Snow Maiden began to walk with him.

Who is the Snow Maiden?

With Snegurochka, too, not everything is clear. It appeared either from folk tales, or from the play of A. Ostrovsky. But the fairy-tale Snow Maiden has nothing to do with Santa Claus, regardless of whether he really exists. And in Ostrovsky's tale she falls to Moroza's daughter, not her granddaughter! Yes, and she does not look like a pretty little girl who congratulates the children on the New Year's Eve - some kind of an eccentric young lady who does not really know what she wants. True, for the sake of justice, it is not her fault: her essence is dual, because her mother is Spring. And in the Snow Maiden there are two struggles: the frosty, the motionless, the dead - and the spring, the living, the loving.

Unlike her, Santa Claus is a whole, rational being. He is kind and wise, majestic and cheerful.

Is it true that Santa Claus exists?

Of course it's true. You can ask any child - and any (except, quite hopeless) will answer that way. And since Santa Claus exists, there must be some evidence of this.

And they are. First, Santa Claus has an address. In fact, there are three: in Arkhangelsk, in Lapland and in Veliky Ustyug. You can, in general, add to the list and its Moscow residence. And can there be an address from someone who does not exist?

True, it turns out that the real Santa Claus does not just exist, but exists in several places at once, but these are trifles. After all, he is a magician - that he should move in space in a flash !?

In Veliky Ustyug there is the main residence of Father Frost, special trains and thousands of people go there who want to look at his homeland.

Father Frost Residence

Great Ustyug is a small, modest city of the Vologda region, the same age as Moscow. And there were no special prerequisites for him to become so famous throughout Russia. Well, except that the Northern Mon - a trade that has long existed in these harsh places and has no analogues in the world. And if Santa Claus did not exist, then how would Ustyug become such a popular destination for tourists?

In the residence there works the Post of Father Frost, where thousands of children and even adults send letters with requests, wishes, stories about their lives and dreams of a miracle. To whom do they write, it is asked, if Santa Claus is not?

Probably, this is all or almost all evidence of the existence of Santa Claus, which can be cited. But science does not stand still! Perhaps soon they will be even more!
