Laos - airports

Air transport services in Laos provide about 20 airports - international and intercity. As a rule, these are small airfields in which the runway is laid out of concrete slabs or at all represents a grass field.

The national airlines of Laos are Lao Airlines and Lao Central Airlines.

International Airports

The main air ports of the country are Wattai, Luang Prabang and Pakse, where all international flights land:

  1. The main and largest airport of Laos - Wattay - is only 3 km from the center of Vientiane , in the north-western part of the country. On average, it provides about 22 flights a day. Wattai Airport consists of two terminals: the old one, which serves all domestic flights, and the new one, which accepts international flights. There are several bars, restaurants, shops and boutiques on the territory of the Vientiane Air Terminal, including duty-free.   2. Luang Prabang International Airport is located in the city ​​of the same name . This is the second busiest terminal in Laos, consisting of one terminal. The airport terminal has several shops, restaurants, information and information bureaus, currency exchange points and ATMs. Passengers are provided with transportation services.   3. Lao Pakse Airport is 3 km from Pakse city center. Both regular and charter flights arrive here. In 2009, a large-scale reconstruction was completed. The airport building consists of one terminal equipped with comfortable waiting rooms, various shops, souvenir stalls and benches, a bank branch and an ATM. In addition, the territory of Pakse Airport is equipped with free parking. Currently, this civil aerodrome is actively used by the military.
