Nausea in the third trimester of pregnancy

So you stepped on the home stretch, when the pregnancy had gone too far, and there was nothing left until delivery. It's time to think about purchasing the necessary things for the baby: cribs, strollers, baths, clothes. But it happens that the bright days of expecting a miracle are overshadowed by any complications.

In late pregnancy women often complain of heartburn, shortness of breath, pain in the legs and lower back, varicose veins, and cramps. The list is long and not very pleasant.

Nausea in the third trimester of pregnancy, like heartburn, may be due to the fact that the enlarged uterus presses on the stomach, because of what food again gets into the esophagus. By analogy, shortness of breath can be caused by pressure of the uterus on the diaphragm.

Sometimes nausea in late pregnancy is due to an overdose of certain substances. For example, if the entire pregnancy continues to take folic acid in large dosages, the body begins an overabundance of this vitamin and nausea becomes one of the symptoms of this phenomenon.

Nausea at the 38-39 week of pregnancy can be associated with an active preparation of the organism for an early delivery. The movements of the baby are increasingly limited by its size and sometimes cause painful sensations, and sometimes the urge to vomit.

To minimize nausea in the third trimester, you need to eat small portions. Remember that the child takes the lion's share of the space of the abdominal cavity and for the internal organs of the mother there is very little space. The stomach does not have a place for full-fledged expansion during meals and can simply not cope with the volume of incoming food. Try also that the food in the third trimester is easily digestible.

In the fight against nausea will help to cope with fresh air - leisurely walks will distract and help to relax. But if the attacks of nausea you are seriously worried, it is better to seek advice from a doctor. Perhaps he will give you additional tests and other studies.
