Chronic dermatological disease, which is accompanied by a significant reddening of the epidermis on the face, is called rosacea or rosacea. Pathology has nothing to do with acne and teenage pimples, since it develops mainly in people of mature age, after 25-30 years.
Pink acne causes
It is not yet possible to find out exactly why rosacea appears. There are several variants of predisposing factors:
- subcutaneous mite Demodex variety Folliculorum;
- a bacterium in the stomach of Helicobacter Pylori that causes gastritis;
- medicines of some groups, especially corticosteroid drugs;
- overheating or hypothermia;
- increased sensitivity of blood vessels and their proximity to the surface of the skin;
- disorders in the work of the endocrine, nervous or digestive system;
- alcohol abuse;
- excess cholesterol in the diet.
In some cases, rosacea may become a consequence of seborrhea, but more often occur on a previously healthy skin.
Pink acne on the face - symptomatology
The clinical picture of rosacea is difficult to confuse with other diseases:
- rashes on the face, initially similar to small pimples, and then passing into a heavier form - papules and pustules;
- stable reddening of cheeks, nose and forehead center, less often hyperemia spreads to the neck and sternum;
- lacrimation, feeling of eruption in the eyes;
- Sealing of the epidermis in the area of reddened skin;
- change (in the form of some increase) of the tip of the nose;
- vascular network.
Not all symptoms appear simultaneously, some signs appear at late stages of the disease or are absent.
Pink acne on the face - treatment
Two main medicinal directions in the therapy of rosacea have been developed. The first is based on the use of exclusively local drugs:
- gel with metronidazole;
- ointment from rosacea with antibiotics (erythromycin, clindamycin);
- ichthyol ointment ;
- naphthalane;
- antiseptic solutions with furatsilinom, streptotsidom, hlorgeksidinom.
The second method is used if the local treatment of rosacea has not been effective enough. It involves taking preoral antibiotic drugs:
- tetracycline;
- doxycycline;
- minocycline.
At the same time, vitamin therapy is required, as well as the use of hepatoprotectors and lacto-, bifidobacteria to eliminate harmful and toxic effects on the liver and intestines.
With very severe rosacea and accelerated progression of the dermatological disease, isotretinoin (a retinol derivative) is indicated. Before treating rosacea with such medicines, it is important to consult a doctor and perform several types of laboratory tests. Drugs of this type inevitably cause changes in the body, negatively affect the kidneys and liver, can provoke gene mutations.
