The main active substance of this drug is dabigatran etexilate. Due to this, thrombin activity is suppressed after applying the Pradax preparation. Dabigatran etexilate is rapidly absorbed and transformed into dabigatran (reversible direct thrombin inhibitor) during hydrolysis. The effectiveness of the drug is reduced by 20% if the weight of a person is more than 120 kg, and increases by 25% with a body weight of the patient less than 48 kg.
