Rudbeckia "Cherry Brandy"

One of the species of rudbeckia is hairy varieties "Cherry Brandy". It is considered one of the most unusual, since its flowers are cherry-colored and almost black in the middle.

Rudbeckia "Cherry Brandy" - description

This sort of rudbeckia is a hairy plant with plants with a high stem (about 50-60 cm) growing out of a lush leaf outlet.

Basal and cauline leaves differ from each other. The first ovoid and whole, and the second - alternately located, without petioles, hairy and coarse-toothed. The stem crowns a flower about 10 cm in diameter. Its petals can be golden or burgundy, and they all have a dark convex center. Their flowering lasts long enough - from the end of July and to the first frosts.

Many consider this combination of colors too dark for a flower garden. It is recommended to use in a composition with bright light, low flowers (pink or yellow). In addition, Rudbeckia "Cherry Brandy" is suitable for creating bouquets, as in cut form it takes a long time to stand in a vase.

Rudbeckia hairy "Cherry Brandy" - planting and care

For cultivation of rudbeckia "Cherry Brandi" it is necessary to allocate a sunny place with the fertile soil, well cleared of weeds. In order for the flower to grow better, it is recommended to lime before sowing.

Landing in the open ground can be carried out only when the last spring frosts pass. Each hive should be located at a distance of not less than 30 cm.
