Subculture rockers

"Drive, freedom, rock'n'roll!" - That was the motto of those who consider themselves to be rockers. This subculture originates from the UK in the late 1950s. So called the young people who fearlessly dashing in the stiff London streets. The guys first united the love of fast driving, and then a joint passion for rock'n'roll. It was then that this style of music gained momentum thanks to such "motherly" musicians as Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry, Gene Vincent, Eddie Cochran, Bo Diddley, and others.

As for the countries of the former socialist camp, one of the main attributes - a motorcycle - was not at all necessary. About buying this vehicle of the same class as that of the English youth, an ordinary Soviet student could only dream, admiring the glossy photograph in the magazine. Therefore, in our country, those who only fostered fondness for fatal music considered themselves rockers.

However, this way of life could not but affect the style of clothing.

How to dress up rockers?

The style of the adherents of this subculture is dominated by the features of brutality, which is achieved by using denim and skin. At the same time, the rocker manner of dressing is dictated, first of all, by convenience and practicality. So, for example, a leather motorcycle jacket, or as it was dubbed a "scythe", is an obligatory attribute of a rocker costume - it not only looks stylish, but also protects from wind during fast driving and damage in case of small accidents. It is generously decorated with rivets, spikes, pins, chains and stripes. Rockers prefer a motorcycle helmet, a leather cap, a bandanna. Silk scarf is not only an ornament, but also a face protection from the oncoming cold wind. In the wardrobe of every self-respecting rocker there are leather trousers or jeans. Many of them are branded by Levi's. The shoes for the representatives of this subculture are the so-called "Cossacks" - boots and boots with upward noses, heavy boots "grinders", sneakers and sneakers. Rockers are not alien to decorating the body with accessories, most often of white metal and leather - rings, chains, bracelets, wristbands, belts with various Celtic symbols and animal images.

Hairstyles of rockers

Usually men prefer long hair, loose or collected in the "horse" tail. Popular and short haircuts rockers, in which the hair of different lengths fit into "thorns", Iroquois, nachetsy or simply lifted up cosmetic.

Lifestyle rockers

Having a single hobby - riding a motorcycle - rockers often created small musical groups. The philosophical view of the imperfection of the world was reflected in the music of the rockers and the texts of their songs, which sometimes contain a protest, a call and even a riot. Despite this, rockers are distinguished by erudition, a positive attitude towards others and the lack of aggression towards other youth movements. Unfortunately, many representatives of this lifestyle abuse smoking, alcohol and drugs.

Appeared and settled the so-called sign of rockers - "goat" - gesture, in the form of an upwardly directed index finger and little finger and with the others pressed to the palm of one hand. So at rock concerts, people expressed solidarity, unity with the performers on the stage.

Over time, the subculture of rockers was divided into separate species, new rock directions appeared from "light" (pop-rock, Brit-pop) to "heavy" (heavy metal, punk rock). Motorcycle lovers created a biker culture. In our country, called Russian rock, to the representatives of which the groups "Alisa", "DDT", "Kino", "Nautilus Pompilius", "Time Machine" and others are counted.

Today, modern rockers mean fans and performers of rock music.

But how to become a rocker? It is not enough to wear a "dry leather coat", heavy boots, a T-shirt with a picture of your favorite group, grow long hair, wear wristbands - the appearance will not be enough. After all, being a rocker means having a special worldview. And for this, it is not necessary to stand out with external attributes: many rock fans prefer casual clothing and choose ordinary occupations.
