Vertical beds with own hands

It often happens that there is not enough space to plant all the crops on the site. In this case, you can arrange the beds not in length, but in height. In this article, we will show you how to make vertical beds with your own hands.

Materials for vertical beds

To create such seats, it is not necessary to buy plastic multi-tier structures, they can be built from plastic bottles, PVC drainpipes, wooden boxes, old pots, polyethylene bags, boards and even rubber tires. Let's look at how to do some of them.

Vertical beds of plastic bottles

1. Take a two-liter bottle and cut it in half. The upper part is loosely screwed with a lid, we pour the prepared soil into it and put it with the neck down into the second half.
2. We attach the obtained construction to the grid or frame. Now you can safely sow seeds in them.

Bottles can be used as one, and make of them whole "vertical plantations."

Vertical bed of plastic pipes

This will require 2 pipes: a narrow one (about 10 cm in diameter) and a wide one (more than 25 cm in diameter).

Performance:

1. On a wide pipe we recede from the upper and lower edges of 15 cm and make vertical rows of holes. The diameter of the holes should be about 15 cm, and between them - 20 cm.
2. On the second pipe, too, make holes, only small and bowl. The lower end is closed with a plug and the entire surface is wrapped with a thin foam.
3. We establish a wide pipe in the chosen place, fixing it with a cross, and insert it inward with a thin one.
4. In a large circle, fill 10-15 cm of gravel, and then fill all the remaining space with soil.
5. In the holes we plant strawberries. Watering and fertilizing such a bed should be filled with an inner thin pipe.

Vertical bed of boxes

For this we need boxes of different sizes and a long metal pipe.

We make a bed like this:

1. First dig in the pipe so that it does not stagger. After that, we put on it the largest box and fill it with earth. Next we take a smaller capacity, put it on the pipe, and place it diagonally in relation to the bottom one.
2. After all boxes are installed and filled, we plant seedlings in them.

By the same principle, you can make a bed of old pots or buckets, deep bowls or any other containers that are suitable for height and size for growing plants.

In the vertical beds perfectly grow annual ampel flowers, strawberries, strawberries, as well as spicy herbs.
