Which of us would not like, with a minimum of effort, to get a beautiful well-groomed flower garden near the house? To achieve this is much easier than it seems, it is only necessary to settle the beautiful lavatera on the site. Lavater's flowers are so complaisant that the planting and care of them will not cause difficulties even for the most inexperienced flower growers. And the variety of colors and shapes of this plant will help to fit it into almost any design.

Planting and caring for a long-term lavater in open ground

Its name was a beautiful lavatera in honor of the Lavater brothers who dedicated their lives to the study of medicinal properties of various plants. They first noticed this plant, discovering it near Zurich. Since then, a huge selection work has been carried out and a lot of species and varieties of this beautiful plant have been bred. But the greatest interest in gardeners is the long-term lavaera, whose powerful root system allows it to easily transfer all the vagaries of nature. To plant a lava in your area, you must follow the following recommendations:

  1. The most justified is the seedling method of growing this plant. On seedlings, the seeds should be sown about 2 months before the planned planting of the seedlings in the open ground. The optimal time for this is in March, as the seedlings seeded earlier can be ugly to stretch out due to lack of sunlight.
  2. Seeds are sown in a container with ground to a depth of 1 cm. For each variety of lavatories it is necessary to prepare a separate container in order to make it easier to form a beautiful flower bed.
  3. In the phase of 2 leaves the seedlings are spread on separate pots, the diameter of which does not exceed 4-5 cm.
  4. To ensure that the seedlings are maximally viable, it must be fed three times at intervals of 2 weeks. The first top dressing is in the first decade after the pick.
  5. In the first decade of May, a strong seedling can be transplanted into an open priming. To do this, in a well-lit area dig small holes, fill them with a mixture of mineral and organic fertilizers, and put the seedlings together with a clod of earth. Immediately after the transplant, the lavatere is provided with an enhanced drinking regime, watering it daily.
  6. After planting, care for a long-term lavatera is reduced to regular (at least 1 time in 7 days) watering and loosening the soil, as well as fertilization. At the initial stage of the development of the lava, a huge amount of organic matter and nitrogen is needed. After the plant reaches half a meter in height, the amount of nitrogen in top dressing should be minimized, giving preference to trace elements: magnesium, phosphorus, manganese.
