How to grow an alisso from a seed?
Sow the seeds of alissum in the open ground at different times:
- under the winter - until the first snow falls;
- from the end of April to the beginning of June - after the end of spring frosts.
When sowing before winter ("under snow"), the plant often suffers from fungal diseases, but its flowering begins in early spring. Most often planting this flower gardeners prefer to do in the spring to close the empty places of the flower garden after the tulips and daffodils.
The place for sowing Allisum should be very sunny with light, but nutritious soil. If necessary, before planting (per month), you can fertilize it with compost .
Procedure for planting with seeds:
- Prepare a site for planting: dig and enrich with calcium.
- Spill the planting material on the surface of the soil and press it lightly, but without sprinkling the soil, since the germination of the Allis depends on the abundance of sunlight.
- At an air temperature of + 16-20 ° C, sprouts usually appear after 1 week, and in case of shortage of heat and light - later. They need to be weeded and moderately watered.

How to grow an alissum with the help of seedlings?
If necessary, to accelerate the flowering or to obtain a flowering allisum by a certain date, seedling is used. You can plant an allissum on seedlings from the end of February and the whole of March.
Procedure:
- Take the container for planting and fill it with light and nutritious soil, mixing it with a small amount of lime. You can also take a pot of compost.
- Sow the seeds on the surface (not sprinkling), press and pour well.
- We put the container in a warm bright place and cover it with polyethylene or a transparent hood to create the effect of the greenhouse. For germination of seeds it is necessary to provide in the room air temperature + 16-20 ° C.
- After the appearance of sprouts (after 4-7 days), remove polyethylene, put them under additional light and arrange a temperature regime of at least +10 ° C. Prior to landing on a permanent watering place, moderate watering is required.
- When 2-3 well developed leaves appear, the seedlings are dived, i.e. seated in small pots, and fed: complex fertilizer once a week or nitrogen and potassium - after 3-4 days.
- From the beginning of May, seedlings must be taken out in the afternoon to fresh air for hardening.
- Planting seedlings in the open ground can be in late May, withstanding 10-15cm between plantings.
Blossoming of such bushes Allisuma will come already in the end of June.
In addition to growing in the kitchen gardens, garden areas or flower gardens, the allissim is planted in long pots and used to decorate window sills and balconies.
