Problems with defecation are common to many people, especially with unbalanced diet, the presence of chronic diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, susceptibility to constant stress and psychological overload. Gastroenterologists often diagnose atonic constipation - the symptoms and treatment of this pathology strongly depend on the causes of its occurrence, but the standard therapy scheme usually involves emergency help in bowel evacuation.
Symptoms of Atonic Constipation
This disorder is caused by a decrease in intestinal motility. The muscular structure of the organ simply does not cope with its functions, provoking a delay in the stool masses inside.
In differential diagnosis, it is important to distinguish atopic and spastic constipation. This is helped by the presence of signs characteristic of the first form of pathology:
- absence of defecation more than 2-3 days;
- bloating ;
- painful sensations in the lower zone of the epigastric region;
- weakness;
- difficulty and pain in bowel movement, the need to exert effort, push;
- symptoms of intoxication (pallor of the skin, nausea, high body temperature);
- veins of blood in stool;
- solid or dense consistency of faeces;
- poor appetite;
- wide diameter of stool.
Defecation is often accompanied by ruptures and cracking of the rectum, which is accompanied by burning and painful sensations in the anus.
