Bali is not only the chic beaches , lazy rest and first-class hotels . On this Indonesian island you can find charming landscapes, and for this it is not necessary to go far. Right in the center of Bali, in a place called Bedugul , there is a botanical garden.
What is interesting about the garden?
In fact, Kebun Raya Bali (so officially called the Botanical Garden) is a branch of the famous Bogor Garden , located on the island of Java . It was founded in 1958 by the Indonesian Scientific Institute. The garden is located on the area of 157.5 hectares on the slope of Gunung Pohon, which translates as "mountain of trees". The Bali Botanical Garden is famous for its unique collections, among which are:
- trees of more than 650 species;
- bamboo and begonias;
- cacti and ferns;
- aquatic and insectivorous plants;
- orchids, represented by more than 400 species;

- Weather. When going to visit the park, be prepared for the cool weather: the daytime temperature here is kept within + 17 ... + 25 ° С.
- Where to stay? On the territory of the garden there is a guesthouse in the form of a traditional Balinese house. Usually there live scientists who are monitoring the nature of the island. However, if at the moment the hotel is empty, tourists are allowed to settle here, and decided to stay in the park for a few days for a detailed inspection.
How to get to the Botanical Garden?
