Brush for shading shadows

If the applicator or fingers are comfortable to shade gel-like or liquid shadows , then for the most common dry shadows it is necessary to use a brush, otherwise it will not be possible to gently shade them.

Brushes for applying and shading shadows

Many brushes can be used for both application and shading of shadows.

In general, brushes for shadows are divided into 3 groups:

  1. Wide brushes, with a fairly long, soft pile, are best suited for applying the base, laying shadows over a large area.
  2. Short, with a pile of various lengths, flat at the base, is usually used for applying the basic tone in the corners of the eyes and under the lower eyelid.
  3. Sufficiently dense, soft, most often used for feathering the border between different shades.

The best brushes for feathering shadows are considered brushes with villi of different lengths, with domed tops and thick but soft pile. To shade the shadows along the edge of the eyelashes is more suitable brush with an elastic short pile and almost flat edge. Brush can be made of both natural bristles and artificial material. It is believed that to shade cream shadows, it is desirable to take a brush from an artificial material that does not absorb fats, and for dry shadows a brush made of natural bristles is better suited.

But also it is worth noting that for the accurate application of shadows an important role is played not by the material from which the feather brush is made, but by the stiffness of its pile. Too tough pile, which occurs in cheap brushes, you can scratch the eyelid, in addition, it creates an uneven tone, leaves strips and furrows.
