How to accelerate the maturation of grapes?

It is not a secret that the most valuable grapes are the earliest dates of maturation. That is why the efforts of many wine growers are aimed at mastering the technologies that allow to accelerate the ripening of grape berries as fast as possible in September.

How to accelerate the ripening of grapes?

To maximize the time of obtaining the grape harvest will help the implementation of a set of the following operations:

  1. Ringing - removal from the fruiting shoot directly under the ripening cluster of the circular cortical part, no more than 0.5 cm wide. Due to this manipulation, the movement of organic substances produced by the leaves decreases, the bunch gets better nutrition, and the berries mature more quickly. Carry out the ringing when the berries are just beginning to ripen.
  2. Embossing - removal of tops in strongly growing shoots to the first well developed leaf. Thanks to this manipulation, the sugar content in berries is significantly improved, fruit buds develop more actively on the vine.
  3. Brew rarefaction - removal of a part (up to 1/5) of berries, mostly deformed or located inside the brush. It is usually produced with the aid of special scissors. Due to this manipulation, a deliberately low-quality part of the crop is screened out, and the level of illumination of all other berries increases. To produce a rarefaction of the brush follows when the berries gain 75% of the normal size.
  4. Turning - as you mature, grape clusters are carefully turned around their axis so that they receive from all directions a sufficient amount of sunlight.
  5. Adding fertilizers with the maximum content of phosphorus, molybdenum, zinc and boron - elements that play a primary role in the fastest formation and ripening of the crop.
