Cage for the parrot with their own hands

Before you start a wavy parrot, you need to build a home for him. It is best to make a cell of metal, and it is desirable that it is covered with any protective layer: galvanized, nickel-plated or chrome plated. Do not make a cage of copper, as in time copper will oxidize, and copper oxide is a strong poison for your parrot, which can cause serious illnesses . A wooden cage for parrots is also little adapted for keeping birds in it, as they will begin to gnaw the tree and the cage will quickly become worthless. And it's more difficult to care for a parrot in such a cage.

How to make a homemade cage for parrots?

Let's look at how to make and assemble a parrot cage with our own hands. For this we need the following materials:

  1. Work on the arrangement of a cage for a parrot begins with the creation of a drawing in two projections. The size of the cage for parrots can be arbitrary. In addition, we draw out a sketch of the decorative insert according to the dimensions that coincide with the dimensions of the cell.
  2. From the wire, you need to bend two rings, firmly attaching their edges - this is the top and bottom of the insert.
  3. We bend from the same wire the elements of the pattern, which then bend also along the circumference, and all the elements are fastened together.
  4. We make a small wire circle and attach knitting needles to it - this will be the dome of the cage.
  5. Now it's time to make the base of the cell. On the plywood draw a circle with a radius equal to the radius of the wire rings. Stepping back by 5 mm, delineate the border of the bottom of the cage and saw it with a jig saw. On a small circle, it is necessary to map out the holes for the spokes and drill them.
  6. We connect the base of the cell with the dome. From the wire cut off the required number of spokes and, bending them from one end with a hook, attach to the decorative insert. The other end of the knitting needle is inserted into the plywood bottom, bite off the excess part from the back side and bend. We do not insert two spokes - this will be a place for the door.
  7. Make a concave door. We cut off the wire rod, at one end we make a loop, and the rest of it is bent in a circle. We got a curl. We will do the same, but mirror detail.
  8. Loops with each other are secured with a knitting needle.
  9. In the door blank we add missing spokes, and its base is bent to the size of the doorway.
  10. From the bottom of the doorway, add two more knitting needles, which are threaded into the plywood base and bent from the bottom. We fasten the door, and our cage is ready.

Now you need to pick up equipment for a cage with a wavy parrot: a feeder and a drinking bowl, perches and toys. And finally, it's time to populate the feathered friend in his new cage made by himself.
