What is interesting about this place?

Celetna Street in Prague stretches from the Old Town Square to the Powder Tower . Since the XIV century, it was part of the Royal Route and led future monarchs to the coronation in Prague Castle . Of course, such a street could not be ugly or dirty. On the contrary, the best houses were built here, in which only worthy people of such prestige lived.

Today Celetna is a sample of ancient architecture in Prague. Houses are attracted by their beauty, and in particular by design elements. Looking at the buildings, you can see that on each of them there are drawings of animals and birds. Once upon a time such images were something like a table with addresses. Despite the fact that the street has long been named, and each house has a number, local authorities decided to save the drawings.

Initially, the houses in Celetna in Prague were built in Gothic or Romanesque style. But the fashion for architecture changed, and over time they were replaced by buildings in the style of baroque and classicism. Rich Europeans, wishing to stand out, built houses in a different style, so Celetna is a kind of showcase, which presents the main architectural styles of the last four centuries.
