Collapsible BBQ

For those who like to sit around in a friendly company with a barbecue, the brazier is the most necessary device. It is assumed that the first brazier appeared at the beginning of the XVIII century in the mountains of the Caucasus. Even then, local residents knew how to cook meat on embers. The word "brazier" in Russian translation means "basket with coal".

Today, the brazier is one of the most popular devices for preparing various dishes from meat, fish , etc. At the same time they are more delicious than food prepared with the help of ordinary household appliances.

The brazier is very convenient for use in places where there are no other heat sources for cooking: in the country, in a picnic environment. In this case, wood, dry branches, coal are used for cooking.

Mangals are of two types: stationary and portable. Stationary models of mangal are more durable. They are made of metal , stone, brick. Such brazier can be installed in a gazebo or under a canopy, and then you can cook a shish kebab in any weather.

Advantages of collapsible braziers

Portable collapsible brazier assumes that the device can be disassembled, assembled, and also transported in a car or even carried in hands. Such brazier can be taken with you to the cottage, a picnic in nature, a hike. To make it convenient to carry, the folding brazier should be light, so it is made of thin sheet metal. In this case, the brazier will be the easiest, the walls of which are the thinnest. And the cost of such a device will be less.

Collapsible braziers from metal are divided into thick-walled and thin-walled. Models with a wall thickness of 3 to 6 mm are quite heavy. Most often they are used in the country, and after cooking shish kebabs, they can be disassembled and taken to storage in a pantry or a barn. Such mangals are more durable than thin-walled ones. For example, cast-iron collapsible brazier can serve up to 50 years. These models of collapsible braziers can have a pull-out table, grilles or even an adjustable blower. And if such a device also has a roof, then no bad weather will not disturb your plans to taste a delicious dish with a haze.

Thin-walled braziers have a wall no thicker than 3 mm. They are made of aluminum or thin steel sheets. They are distinguished by mobility, low weight and low cost. The construction of thin-walled braziers from metal can be foldable and collapsible. However, all of them are united by the presence of four legs and a box for coals. Such a folding brazier can be folded into a special suitcase or carried in a bag.

The simplest design of the collapsible brazier consists of legs and two frames of metal, on which the skewers will fit. The disadvantage of this brazier is that it can be prepared at a time for a relatively small number of servings. In addition, in such light mangals you can use only ready-made coal, bought in the store. If you put firewood in the barbecue and wait for the coals to be received, the brazier with thin walls will quickly burn and will is not suitable for further use.

Demountable BBQ with their own hands

Brazier can be purchased at the store or made by yourself. To do this, you will need a drill with drills, a Bulgarian or a hacksaw for metal, a steel sheet 2 mm thick, nuts, bolts, corners for the legs.

According to the drawing made beforehand, it is necessary to cut out the details of the brazier from the metal sheet. The edges of the walls are bent and drilled in them holes for screws, with which the parts will be fastened together. From the corners we make the legs and connect them with the walls with the help of bolts. To protect the structure from corrosion, it can be painted with a special heat-resistant paint.
