Decoupage of furniture in the style of Provence - a master class

The style of Provence is airy, romantic, slightly naive and extraordinarily beautiful because of the abundance of decorative gizmos and various textiles . In this style, the different things made by one's own hands fit perfectly. We offer you a master class on decoupage furniture in the style of Provence. And we will do a mini-chest of drawers for different useful trifles.

Materials

Based on this master class you can do decoupage and other things in the style of Provence with your own hands. We will need:

Process of implementation

  1. We unscrew the handles at the dresser and paint it with white paint in several layers, so that the color turns out to be dense and homogeneous.
  2. We select a suitable for the interior of the provence napkin for decoupage. We chose a napkin in a lilac palette with a picture of lavender.
  3. Cut the napkin to the size of the front facade and glue its upper part to the top drawer. To do this, we apply a napkin to the surface of the box, in the middle of the attached part, drip the PVA glue and carefully rub the whole napkin space with a brush, removing air bubbles from it and smoothing the surface.
  4. Gently with a toothpick or fingernail, cut off excess edges of the napkin so that, after finishing with lacquer, they merge with the background of the dresser.
  5. Push the upper drawer of the chest in place and in a similar way glue the lower part of the napkin to other boxes and to the partitions between them.
  6. After the napkin dries completely, use a sharp knife to cut it so that the drawers open freely.
  7. To make the effect of homemade or aged furniture in the style of Provence, dipped the toothbrush into the lilac paint and squirt it on our chest of drawers.
  8. After drying the paint, we cover the dresser with acrylic lacquer to fix the result.
