Drink "Tarhun" at home

"Tarkhun" is not accidentally one of the most favorite drinks in the expanses of the former USSR. In the past, this wonderful soda was prepared on the basis of an extract obtained from tarragon - a very cheap and quite useful herb used for cooking fish and seafood.

About tarragon

Unfortunately, not everyone is so well versed in spices and condiments as we would like, and in fact many of them not only improve the taste of food, but also contain a lot of useful. For example, estragon contains vitamins C, A, B, ascorbic acid, potassium, magnesium, phosphorus and, most importantly, aromatic essential oils, which make it so useful. Again, unfortunately, the most commonly found on sale is dried ground tarragon. As a seasoning for fish, it is indispensable, but the preparation of a drink "Tarhun" at home from such raw materials is impossible. It's not easy

The most useful drinks based on herbs are not decoctions, but infusions. This option allows you to simultaneously extract from the plant raw materials the maximum of useful substances, without destroying vitamins, and keep a pleasant green color of the drink. However, you can insist gentle greens, but the twigs will have to boil, so that they can also extract all that is needed. So we prepare a drink "Tarhun" at home in 2 stages.

We thoroughly wash a bunch of greenery, let the moisture drain and dismantle - we remove green leaves from twigs and put them into a mortar, and put the twigs in a small saucepan. Leaflets fall asleep with sugar - we use it as an abrasive substance, and rub it into a gruel. Half the water is heated to body temperature (about 35-40 degrees) and fill our leaves. Leave to insist for about an hour. Sprigs are poured with remaining water, brought to a boil and after 2 minutes of weak bubbling, cover with a lid and also leave. After an hour, we connect the two infusions, mix well and put them in the refrigerator for the night. In the morning we filter through gauze, folded twice and enjoy a fragrant and very useful drink.

Just add the lemon

Unusually delicious are obtained on the basis of this infusion of other drinks. If you add orange juice, you will get orange blossom, but such exotic is not very common, but lemonade from tarhuna at home will please everyone and, perhaps, will be your favorite drink for all the holidays.

Sprinkle the sprigs of the washed tarhuna from the leaves and boil in 1 liter of filtered water for a couple of minutes. Leave for an hour and a half under the lid to insist. Tarhun leaves, sliced ​​and bones-free lemon, slices of lime put in a blender and with sugar purr. Fill the mixture with soda and send it to the refrigerator. When the broth has cooled down, combine both mixtures and, after mixing, leave for another couple of hours. Filter, pour into a jug or bottles and enjoy. As you can see, making "Tarhun" at home is easy, a recipe for strength and resources for everyone.

Of course, the drink "Tarhun" at home can be prepared without sugar - add to the infusion 2-3 spoons of honey. So it will be much more useful both for a figure, and for the general condition of an organism.
