Flowers in Quilling Technique

Quilling - three-dimensional patterns from paper tapes. With the help of quilling, you can create pictures, frames for photos or decorations for albums.

Quilling often produces flowers. The technique of production is completely uncomplicated, but requires patience and perseverance. Flowers made of paper in the quilling technique can become a real decoration of the holiday, if they are gathered into three-dimensional balls and hung around the room. Three-dimensional decorations look great on hand-made cards, on vases and flower pots.

Today we will learn how to do bulk quilling with our own hands.

For such colors, a large number of materials are not required.

We need:

1. Cut from the colored paper strips of the same thickness. We need two kinds of stripes: 1 cm wide (for fringe) and 5 mm wide for the middle of the colors:

2. Make the fringe. Each strip 1 cm wide is cut so often that the paper fringe turns out. The depth of the incision should not exceed 2/3 of the strip, otherwise the paper will tear.

Now we connect each strip of fringe with a thin tape of paper (5 mm wide). It is better to choose contrasting colors for the middle of the flower and petals (fringe).

3. After the fringe and ribbon for the middle of the flower are firmly glued and dried, you can begin to twist the flowers. At this point, we need a toothpick. Loose the tip of a thin stripe of paper (the middle of the flower) around the toothpick:

We twist the strip together with a strip of fringe. The resulting roll of paper should be very dense. The end of the fringe is carefully glued to the canvas roll.

4. From the roll (bottom) we make a flower, straightening and bending the fringe.

5. Prepare as many flowers as possible. They can be made from 3 ribbons of different widths. Then you will get florets with edging.

6. Here are our quilling flowers and are ready.

As we see, making quilling flowers is not at all difficult. Now it remains to connect them to a beautiful three-dimensional balloon or attach to a postcard.
