The building of the Gothenburg Art Museum was designed by a group of architects, including the famous Siegfried Erickson, Arvid Bjork, Ragnar Svensson and Ernst Torulf. Construction began in 1919 and ended in 1923, to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the founding of the city.
