Mastopathy is a benign disease of the mammary glands, usually associated with a violation of the hormonal balance in women. It is considered a precancerous disease and requires regular examination by a doctor. The main symptoms of diffuse mastopathy are:
- pain, discomfort, heaviness and a feeling of raspiraniya in the mammary glands;
- Breast compression, usually diffuse;
- various discharges from the mammary gland (colostrum, milk or serous character, and the appearance of blood and bloody excretions, especially with the increase of regional lymph nodes, indicates the degeneration into a malignant tumor).
Diagnosis of diffuse mastopathy
The main method of diagnosis in mastopathy is mammography, which is performed in the first phase of the menstrual cycle. If necessary, the doctor prescribes breast ultrasound, duktography, cytological examination of the nipples of the mammary glands or biopsy material after the puncture of the mammary glands, computed tomography. But an obligatory method of diagnosis remains an independent regular examination of the woman's breast.
Diffuse mastopathy - treatment
If a woman is diagnosed with diffuse-fibrous mastopathy, treatment is prescribed after determining the level of female sex hormones in the blood. If diffusion mastopathy arose on the background of hormonal imbalance, the treatment should be directed to its correction. In the program of treatment of diffuse mastopathy use such drugs that affect the hormonal background of a woman:
- antiestrogens (preparations that suppress the synthesis of estrogens - Tamoxifen, Toremifene);
- gestagens (progesterone and its analogues);
- androgens (preparations of male sex hormones that suppress the synthesis of pituitary gonadotropic hormones);
- drugs that inhibit the synthesis of prolactin (Bromocriptine);
- analogs of the rhizome-hormones of the hypothalamus, which are responsible for the synthesis of progesterone by the yellow body of the ovaries (Zoladex).
In diffuse mastopathy, surgical treatment is rarely used, and diffuse-cystic mastopathy, in the presence of nodes, often requires surgical intervention. The truth is there is an easy way to treat and even cure diffuse mastopathy, but it does not suit everyone: it is pregnancy and regular breastfeeding of the baby for at least 3-6 months, during which the symptoms of mastopathy not only noticeably decrease, but may disappear completely.
Diffuse mastopathy - treatment with folk remedies
Of the traditional means of treatment of mastopathy, first of all, it is necessary to allocate a diet rich in vegetable fiber, dairy products, vitamins and trace elements. Limit fats of animal origin. The diet should be rich in fresh vegetables and fruits that contain vitamins C and P (currants, cherries, chokeberry, citrus fruits, raspberries, rose hips).
From phytopreparations can be recommended herbs that have fortifying properties, as well as regulate digestion and metabolism (sedative, choleretic, immunostimulating, diuretic herbs). Such products include decoctions and tinctures from calendula, nettle, dandelion, burdock root, dog rose, immortelle, motherwort, St. John's wort, valerian root, birch buds, corn stigmas, currant. Often in pharmacies there are ready phytopreparations from these herbs, as well as homeopathic preparations with a similar effect (Mastodinon).
