Grapes "Transfiguration"

Grapes have many useful properties and amazing taste. One of the popular varieties of berries, which is good fruit, even in a temperate climate, is the grapes "Transfiguration."

Grapes "Transfiguration" refers to varieties with early maturation. This hybrid variety was introduced by the Russian breeder-amateur V. Krainov not so long ago, but in recent years has invariably been among the ten best varieties of culture.

Description of grapes "Transfiguration"

The plant has a powerful fast-growing shrub with a high ability to form stepsons. Bunches of conical shape, with an average mass of about 1 kg, but individual clusters reach a weight of 3 kg. Large oval berries that have reached maturity have a pink and yellow-pink coloration. In appearance and its taste characteristics, the grapes "Transfiguration" is similar to the other two varieties popular with the wine growers, derived by V.Krainov, "Novocherkassk's Jubilee" and "Victor". Variety berries have an excellent sweet taste with a light sour taste. Thin skin covers the juicy pulp of berries. Fresh grapes have a whitish matt coating and a pronounced flavor. The degree of maturity is not difficult to determine by clicking on the berry. If it is soft, then the grapes are ripe.

The grape variety "Transfiguration" is in demand among the wine growers, due to its rapid adaptation and high yield. Moreover, this culture is capable of yielding two crops in the temperate climatic zone: the first harvest is harvested in August from the mother's bush, and the second full crop in September from the stepchild process. On average, one bush of grapes brings 20 kg of berries.

Grapes "Transfiguration": planting and care

Planting of seedlings

Buying seedlings of grapes "Transfiguration", it is necessary to pay attention that they were not frozen or dried up. The transverse section should be green, the root system - white.

It is better to plant seedlings of grapes in the spring. A pit is excavated for planting, while its depth should be such that the basal neck was at the level of the soil or slightly lower, and the width allowed the roots to settle freely. Seedling soaked a day in a container of water. It is desirable to add a stimulant. Organic fertilizers mixed with earth are laid on the bottom, and a land layer is created (so that the roots do not get burned). Immediately before planting the pruner, the tips of the roots are cut off. To the roots of the seedlings are well warmed, the hole around should be covered with a film and conduct regular watering.

Care for planting grapes

Annual pruning of vine bushes should be carried out. The fan molding is more preferable, the length of the fruit vines must be from 6 to 8 eyes with the number of shoots 24-35. Due to the fact that this hybrid form is high-yielding, and the bunches are very large and heavy, it is necessary to observe the normalization of the yield by the inflorescences. Experienced wine growers recommend leaving only one inflorescence on one shoot.

By the way, some gardeners during the cultivation of the grape variety "Transfiguration" practice the removal of inflorescences on the stepson, believing that it is better to have a qualitative main crop, and the presence of a stepchild leads to a delay in the maturation of the main crop.

The variety "Transfiguration" has an average resistance to fungal diseases. To prevent the appearance of the fungus, one or two sprayings are carried out in the season with solutions of fungicides.

Shelter cover

A cultivated plant withstands frosts to -23 degrees, so in conditions of moderate climate, mandatory hiding of bushes for the winter period is required. Before the shelter, ¾ of the vine is removed to be easier to cover for the winter. It is better to prune grapes in autumn. If the bush has not been circumcised for the winter, the spring pruning should be carried out before the first bud opening.

Variety of grapes "Transfiguration" has high commercial qualities and good transportability, so it can be grown for both home consumption and for sale.
