How is the cesarean section?

Many future mothers, after learning that they will be delivered by surgery, are interested in doctors about how the cesarean section is going at all. Let's take a closer look at this method of delivery.

At what time is it usually given by cesarean?

Before describing how the cesarean section occurs, it should be noted that usually this kind of surgery is assigned as close as possible to the expected date of delivery. The exception, perhaps, can be those cases when the operation is appointed urgently.

How is the preparation for surgery performed?

Before a planned cesarean section is made, the expectant mother is placed in advance in the hospital. Here she is carried out various surveys, the main purpose of which is to determine the condition of the fetus, its fullness.

In most cases, scheduled surgical intervention for delivery is scheduled for the morning. In this case, 18 hours before the operation, the pregnant woman is completely forbidden to take food and even drink.

Immediately before the cesarean, in the morning they spend toilet and procedures: put a cleansing enema, shave the groin area. After that, the woman puts on an operating shirt and goes to the operating room on a gurney.

How is cesarean section performed?

The first stage, as in any operation, is anesthesia. As a rule, doctors try to use spinal (epidural) anesthesia. However, it is possible to conduct cesarean and under general anesthesia.

Only after the anesthetic has worked, the doctors begin to perform the delivery. For this, a cut of the anterior abdominal wall is made. In most cases, surgeons produce a cross-sectional view, since The remaining seam then looks more aesthetically pleasing.

After this special, sterile instruments expand the operating field, and provide access to the uterus. Then a cut directly from the uterine wall and dissection of the fetal bladder. All this is done before the child is delivered by caesarean section. Following the baby, the placenta is also removed.

The very extraction of the fetus from the mother's womb completely depends on the type of presentation. Most often, when carrying out a surgical operation, it is pelvic. Because the child gets out of the belly of Mom's booty up. In this case, special attention is paid to the umbilical cord, whose loops may be on the neck of the baby, so the extraction of the fetus is slow. This is how the operation takes place, like a caesarean section with a pelvic presentation.

After the baby is removed from the mother's womb, the walls of the uterus, the anterior abdominal wall is sutured, a sterile bandage is applied, and a bubble with ice is placed on the lower abdomen.

In a similar way, an operation such as a cesarean section is performed. The duration of it on average does not exceed 40 minutes, while the baby himself is extracted from the belly of his mother already in the 10-15 minute.
