The touchpad, or the touch mouse, is a very convenient device in laptops and netbooks . It allows you to use the computer where it would be inconvenient to connect a regular mouse (for example, in a train, plane or cafe). In such situations, the touch panel is an excellent replacement for the mouse.
However, for a quick surfing on the network, for games or work, it is preferable to use a traditional computer mouse. It reacts faster and, as a rule, has no habit of moving spontaneously on the screen and accidentally clicking. In addition, the touchpad is located under the keyboard and often hinders when typing. Therefore, most users disable it when it is possible to use the mouse.

- In the latest HP models, there is a small dot in the corner of the touch panel. It can glow or just be applied to the surface of the touchpad. It is enough to press this point twice (or to hold a finger on it), and the touch mouse will stop working. To enable it, you must do the same procedure.
- Most notebook models involve disabling the touchpad with hotkeys. You need to find such a combination of them, which will lead to the desired result. Typically, this is a function key Fn and one of the keys of the F1-F12 series (usually F7 or F9). The latter is usually marked with a touchpad in the form of a rectangle. So, try to press both of these keys simultaneously - and the touch mouse will turn off, and a warning will appear on the laptop screen in the form of text or picture. To use the touchpad again, use the same method.
- There is also a more complicated way, how to disable the touch mouse on the Asus notebook or Acer. These models are equipped with a touchpad from Synaptics, which can be made to turn off automatically when connected to a laptop mouse. To do this, open the "Mouse Properties" menu in the computer's control panel, select the Synaptics device and tick the "Disconnect when connecting an external USB mouse" field. It is done!
