How to disable the touch mouse on a laptop?

The touchpad, or the touch mouse, is a very convenient device in laptops and netbooks . It allows you to use the computer where it would be inconvenient to connect a regular mouse (for example, in a train, plane or cafe). In such situations, the touch panel is an excellent replacement for the mouse.

However, for a quick surfing on the network, for games or work, it is preferable to use a traditional computer mouse. It reacts faster and, as a rule, has no habit of moving spontaneously on the screen and accidentally clicking. In addition, the touchpad is located under the keyboard and often hinders when typing. Therefore, most users disable it when it is possible to use the mouse.

But how to do that? Devays of different models suggest different ways to turn off the sensor. Let's look at the difficult for many issue, how to disable the touch mouse on the laptop.

How to turn off the touch mouse on a laptop?

As you know, in the Windows operating system, you can perform any action in several ways. The user himself chooses from them the most convenient for himself. This also applies to the procedure for disabling the touch mouse. So, there are several ways to do this:

  1. In the latest HP models, there is a small dot in the corner of the touch panel. It can glow or just be applied to the surface of the touchpad. It is enough to press this point twice (or to hold a finger on it), and the touch mouse will stop working. To enable it, you must do the same procedure.
  2. Most notebook models involve disabling the touchpad with hotkeys. You need to find such a combination of them, which will lead to the desired result. Typically, this is a function key Fn and one of the keys of the F1-F12 series (usually F7 or F9). The latter is usually marked with a touchpad in the form of a rectangle. So, try to press both of these keys simultaneously - and the touch mouse will turn off, and a warning will appear on the laptop screen in the form of text or picture. To use the touchpad again, use the same method.
  3. There is also a more complicated way, how to disable the touch mouse on the Asus notebook or Acer. These models are equipped with a touchpad from Synaptics, which can be made to turn off automatically when connected to a laptop mouse. To do this, open the "Mouse Properties" menu in the computer's control panel, select the Synaptics device and tick the "Disconnect when connecting an external USB mouse" field. It is done! By the way, this method is suitable for some Lenovo models. To check if it works, just try to do it.
  4. Disable the touch mouse will help you "Device Manager". Right-click the "My Computer" icon, select "Manage" from the context menu, and go to the "Device Manager" tab. Then find the touchpad in the device list (it may be located in the "Mice" tab) and disable it, again by calling the context menu.
  5. And, finally, another way how to disable the touch mouse on the laptop. It can simply be sealed with a piece of paper or cardboard. You can take an unnecessary plastic card and cut it to the size of the touchpad. Close this "stencil" touch panel, and fix the edges with adhesive tape. As a result of such manipulations, the possibility of touching the sensor is excluded, and you can easily use a conventional mouse.

As you can see, disabling the touch mouse does not represent a big problem, and if you want it can be done in a matter of seconds.
