How to sew a dog overall with their own hands?

With the approach of cold weather on the street, you can often see strolling dogs, dressed in bizarre overalls. Such a tribute to fashion is not meaningless, because dogs with long hair in bad weather can get very dirty, and pets with short fur are more freezing.

A cute light or warm winter overall for a dog to sew yourself is not so difficult. In this case, you will not need much time and money. To make clothes for the fall you need a water-repellent cloth, which is easy to get from an old raincoat. For a warm suit, a piece of cloth from an unnecessary winter jacket will do. We will use an old fleece sweater, from which you will get comfortable and comfortable clothes for a small dog.

So, we need:

• fabric for the base - 70 x 50 cm;
• fabric light for cuffs and collar - 20 cm;
• pattern;
• thread;
• needles and pins;
• scissors;
• sewing machine;
• overlock.

How to sew a coverall for a dog?

1. The most important part of our work is a pattern, because it depends on the design of the future product. Before sewing your own clothes for a dog, apply a pattern to the fabric and draw a contour with a chalk or a pencil, leaving an edge of 1.5 cm allowance for the seams. At us it turned out: a piece of fabric for a trunk 32 cm long, two pieces for sleeves - 8 cm, 2 details for cuffs - 3 x 6.5 cm and one piece for a collar - 4.5x8 cm.
2. Since it is impossible to sew a coverall with your own hands blindly, "we try to get the resulting piece by particles on our pet. If everything is right and the dimensions are correct, we add the details of the cuffs in half, sew it to the sleeves, and seal the seams.
3. Then, the sleeves are sewn into the base, and we process the seams with the overlock.
4. Sew the front and rear sleeves along the longitudinal section and overtake.
5. Stitch the middle front seam and process it with an overlock.
6. Bend in half the detail for the collar and sew the resulting strip into the ring.
7. We put the collar in the neck, fixing it with a pin, sewing it and overticking it.
8. The resulting cutout for the tummy along the edges is also lined with an overlock.
