For constant monitoring, there is a device for measuring the humidity in the apartment. This device is called a hygrometer. To use it is very simple, not more difficult than a thermometer. There are several types of hygrometers:

1. Hair. It is made on the basis of synthetic hair. It is able to measure humidity in the range from 0% to 100%. You can just hang it on the wall.
2. Digital thermohygrometer. A more complex device that measures temperature as well. Measures humidity in two places at once: the location of the device itself and the location of the sensor. The length of the cable is 1.5 meters. The measuring range is 0-90%.
3. Wireless thermohygrometer. Is able to make measurements at several points, if the fall or increase of moisture is excessive, it triggers an alarm. The range is 0-90%.

How to measure the humidity in the apartment, if at hand there is no special device?

Take an ordinary pile and put cold water in it. Put a pile of water in the refrigerator for several hours.

The water temperature will drop to 3-4 ° C. Now you can get hold of the pile and bring it to the room. Place it away from heaters and observe for 5 minutes:

• if the pile first sweated, and then it became dry, then the humidity in the room is lowered;
• if the walls remained misted and after 5 minutes, the air is normal humidity;
• Brooks of water on the walls of the stack indicate an overabundance of moisture in the room.

High humidity in the apartment

If the rooms are constantly misted up windows and underwear dries a few days, most likely, you have an apartment with high humidity. Over time, you will notice the appearance of one of the most unpleasant and dangerous problems - mold. On walls or flowers black, red, greenish or gray spots will appear.
