Fetal Egg Implantation - Symptoms

As is known, the fertilization of the egg takes place either in the fallopian tube or in the abdominal cavity. Implantation of the fetal egg in the uterine cavity occurs in the period of 3-4 days and lasts about 2 days. Often, this process is asymptomatic for a woman, but still some people have a number of characteristic features, which will be discussed later.

Fetal Egg Implantation - Symptoms

Early signs of implantation of the fetal egg may be poor bloody discharge for 4-7 days after unprotected intercourse, pulling pains in the lower abdomen. It is characteristic that bleeding during implantation of the fetal egg is not abundant and lasts from several hours to a week. Allocations during implantation of the fetal egg can be accompanied by general weakness, dizziness, malaise, drowsiness, irritability. Dyspeptic phenomena are characterized by a sensation of metallic taste in the mouth, mild nausea, heaviness after eating. During the implantation of the fetal egg, a woman can note such sensations as tingling in the chest and in the lower abdomen (associated with an inflammatory reaction at the implantation site of the embryo). But, more often than not, a woman does not feel when the implantation of the fetal egg in the uterus cavity occurs.

Attaching a Fetal Egg - Objective Signs

When implanting the embryo, the villus of the chorion begins to produce chorionic gonadotropin, which can be determined 5-6 days after the onset of pregnancy during a pregnancy test. Thus, the definition of increased hCG in the urine or blood of a woman is the most reliable confirmation of pregnancy.

The second reliable method for determining pregnancy is an ultrasound. However, on ultrasound, the embryo in the uterus can be seen not earlier than 5 weeks, when it reaches several millimeters.

Thus, we considered all possible objective and subjective signs of implantation of the fetal egg. Objective include raising chorionic gonadotropin and visualizing the fetal egg in the uterine cavity. Subjective symptoms include women's sensations: bloody discharge, nervousness, irritability, frequent mood swings, dyspepsia, tingling in the chest and abdomen. Subjective criteria are not found in every woman, they may not exist at all.

It is important to differentiate implantation bleeding from a pathological one that requires medical attention and can be a symptom of the disease.
