Logarska Dolina

Logarska Dolina is one of the most beautiful glacial valleys of Slovenia and even Europe. These are alpine meadows, which are surrounded by mountain peaks with their flora, fauna and rustling mountain rivers. Since 1987, this area has been protected, and it has become a nature reserve, which tourists from all countries are eager to visit.

Logarska valley has a unique location:

  1. In the southern part of the valley is the beginning of the Savinja River. Not far from this river is located the highest waterfall - the 90-meter Rinka.
  2. In the eastern part there are two more waterfalls - Suchica and Palenque.
  3. In the south-eastern part is open to visit the cave of Clement.
  4. Above the Logar valley, there are such mountain peaks as Krophichka, Oystritsa, Planyava and Brana.

Logan Valley has a length of 7 km and a width of about 250 m, it is divided into three parts: the lower Log, the middle Plest and the Upper Cat.

What is the interest of Logarska Valley?

Once in Logar Valley, tourists can devote time to such kinds of entertainment:

  1. In winter, the road through the valley turns into a cross-country ski run.
  2. In this area are offered such kinds of extreme mountain: parachute jumping, rock climbing, kayaking on the mountain river and other options.
  3. Those tourists who prefer quiet rest, can devote time to hiking, cycling, fishing or horse riding.
  4. You can devote yourself to conquering the surrounding peaks, to climb up the mountains or take pictures.
  5. This picturesque area is perfect for recreation with children, there is a fairytale forest - a park that is created artificially and is dedicated to the most popular fairy-tale heroes.
  6. For tourists in the Logar Valley, restaurants are also available. They are very tasty and homemade, you can try the dishes "Masovnik", "Sirnitsa", mutton soup and game, homemade bread and desserts, which use honey and jam.

For active recreation it is possible to rent sports equipment and bicycles.

In the Logar Valley there is also a part of the cultural heritage, these are wooden storerooms. They are attributes of the peasant economy, mainly they served to store grain, some of them still fulfill their mission. On excursions you can see such attractions as the House of Spiritual Work, the shepherd camp in Logarski Cote and the Chapel of Christ the Almighty. Logarska Valley is one of the valleys of the Solchava region, but it is also worth visiting the other two - Robanov Kot and Matkov Kot.

How to get there?

Logarska Valley is located in the Solchava region, which can be reached by the Maribor highway or through the city of Kamnik .
