Lovcen

Mausoleum and monument

The top of Yezerski vrch adorns the mausoleum of Peter II Negosh - an outstanding statesman, bishop, poet and thinker. Curious is the fact that Peter II chose his place of burial during his lifetime and directed the construction of the chapel. Unfortunately, the original structure was destroyed during the First World War. In 1920, on the orders of King Alexander II, the chapel was rebuilt anew, but in 1974 it was replaced by a mausoleum.

The road to the top of the mountain is difficult to call a simple, but the spent efforts fully compensate for opening magnificent landscapes. The end of the road is often called a ladder to the sky and for good reason: to get to the mausoleum, you need to overcome 461 steps. The staircase passes through a stone tunnel, and you can only reach the goal on foot.

Not far from the mausoleum is a small observation deck. In clear weather, you can see the whole of Montenegro and even part of Italy, as well as make excellent photos from the top of Lovcena.

Adventure Park

Ivanovo Coryta is the largest valley of the Lovcen mountain in Montenegro, located at an altitude of 1200 m. In this place there is an adventure park occupying an area of ​​2 hectares.
