Negushi


Situated at 900 meters above sea level, the village of Negushi in Montenegro is always open to tourists. This small cozy settlement is located in the south of the country in the municipality of Cetinje . Only 17 people live here, which does not prevent them from keeping this place in excellent condition.

What to see in Negushi?

Despite its tiny size, the village of Negushi in Montenegro is quite visited, and there are reasons for this. First, to get here, you need to overcome many loops of mountain streamers, and this is already a kind of entertainment. Secondly, visiting the village is an excellent opportunity to breathe the purest mountain air, devoid of urban smog. In addition, do not forget about the unique sights of the Negushi village:

  1. House-museum. Several centuries ago it was in this village that a famous philosopher, outstanding singer, public figure and ruler of Montenegro Peter II Petrovich Nyoshosh appeared. Until now, preserved his house-museum in which even there is the cradle of a great reformer.
  2. Mausoleum of Negosh . It is located on the very top of the mountain Lovcen.
  3. Architecture of the village. Interesting in terms of studying the old houses in the village - from them and breezes legends of the past. They were preserved perfectly, mainly thanks to the efforts of the inhabitants.
  4. Memory of the war. In the surroundings of the Negushi, there are many dilapidated pillboxes since the Second World War, which did not pass through Montenegro.
  5. Delicacies. The most interesting thing that attracts tourists to Negushi is the famous Negush cheese and prosciut - jerky. These dishes of traditional Montenegrin cuisine conquered more than one stomach. You can buy as a large ham weighing more than 10 kg (the price is about 8 euros per kg), and cutting from it, packed with vacuum. In front of the yards, where delicacies are sold, signs (some even in Russian) are posted, announcing that the owners are always glad to visitors. Meat products are stored here in special barns, their shelf life is 3 years. In addition to meat and cheese, you can buy excellent wine, vodka rakiyu and honey of mountain bees.

How to get to the village of Negushi in Montenegro?

To visit Montenegro and not to go to Lovcen is impossible. This is the most interesting region for mountain tourism. From Cetinje to the Negush Valley, a 35-minute drive along the serpentine mountain through the P15 and P1 trails. Despite the rather high popularity of this area, buses run here irregularly, so it's better to rent a car or use the services of a taxi service.
